When you think about Gigabit vs Gigabyte term, a gigabit is really just eight times smaller than the Gigabyte. So if your network connection has an average download speed of 15 megabytes per second (Mbps), then increasing that by 8x would result in 112 Mbps - more than enough for streaming video or downloading large files without needing to resort to any other means!
