The ideal time to take Modalert 200 mg depends on its purpose. For narcolepsy and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), it is best taken in the morning to promote wakefulness throughout the day. Those with shift work sleep disorder (SWSD) should take it one hour before their work shift to maintain alertness. For cognitive enhancement (off-label use), it is recommended to take it in the morning or early afternoon to avoid sleep disturbances. Since Modalert has a long-lasting effect (10–12 hours), taking it late in the day can cause insomnia. It should be consumed with or without food but at a consistent time daily for optimal results. Avoid taking it in the evening, and consult a doctor if you have heart conditions, high blood pressure, or anxiety.
