Why might employees prefer a bi-weekly payroll over a semi-monthly one?

Employees may support bi-weekly payroll since they get checks 26 times a year as oppose to the 24 times with semi-monthly payroll. This means one more ‘’pay check’’ in every two months which makes it easier to plan for or set aside money for such unique expenses. Bi-weekly pay schedules also tend to have better correlation between a number of weekly cycle expenses, such as rent, or groceries, to name but a few. However, the actual monitory value is slightly less as the salary is divided over numerous pay checks which is always a planning factor.
